How to find your immunisation records
How to find your immunisation records
Where are immunisations recorded?
Since October 2016
immunisations
in Australia have been recorded on the centralised Australian Immunisation Register (AIR). Individuals can download their Immunisation History Statement from the AIR.
The Australian Immunisation Register (AIR)
The AIR is a national register that records immunisations given to people of all ages in Australia. This includes:
immunisations funded under the National Immunisation Program (NIP)
school-based immunisation provided under State and Territory immunisation programs
most privately-funded immunisations, including
influenza
and
travel immunisations
.
It’s up to your immunisation provider to record your immunisations on the AIR. It is a good idea to remind them to do this.

Immunisation records not on the AIR
Immunisations that are not recorded on the AIR include:
childhood immunisations (or any other immunisations) prior to 1996
immunisations received as a person aged between 7 and 20 years between 1996 and December 2015
immunisations received as an adult prior to October 2016.
How can I find immunisation records that are not on the AIR?
For recent immunisations not on the AIR please contact your immunisation provider.
For immunisations received as an adult prior to October 2016, you will need to contact the organisation that administered the immunisation, such as the GP, local council, hospital or travel clinic, to obtain a written record. These cannot be recorded on the AIR.
In the situation that immunisation records cannot be located, visit your GP to discuss your (or your child’s) immunisation requirements.
